Some notes on the above family
Jefferson was the son of Absalom Slaven and Elizabeth J. (Woods) Slaven. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War in Company I, 30th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. Pension file states that he was shot to death by Frank Musgrove (husband of his daughter, Elizabeth). He was killed 26 July 1908 in Scott County, Tennessee.
Ab was killed by his son, Jeff, with a shotgun blast to the chest. His date of death was 23 Jun 1931 and he is buried in Stearns Cemetary, McCreary County, Kentucky.
